Good News
Today I want to tell you about some good news! I know the newspapers are filled with bad news and very seldom have any good news, but there is some really good news that you need to hear. It is not recent news, as a matter of fact, it is old news, but it is still relevant to us today. What is this good news? The good news is that Jesus is Alive! That’s news, you say? Yes, like I said it is not new, and most people have heard it before, but do you know how it affects our lives? Just what does this good news mean?
Let me explain how this good news can change your life. First, there is a problem with the human condition; this problem is what we call sin. Sin separates us from God and condemns our souls to eternal punishment. Romans 3:10-11, “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless, this is no one who does good, not even one.
To compound the problem is the fact that God loves His creation with an intense love and the only hope for mankind is the sacrifice of His Son. We see this in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Again God’s love is shown in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
What does this good news mean to us? It means that we do not have to live in sin. There is a way to escape. Now, what are you going to do with this good news? You have to responses: You can reject it and be separated from God for all eternity, or you can accept God’s Son as your only hope of spending eternity with God. If you want to accept Jesus into your heart then say this prayer and believe in your heart that Jesus will forgive your sins.
Jesus, I believe I am a sinner and give those sins over to you. I ask that you come into my heart and forgive my sins. I promise to live the way you want me to so that I can live with you forever. Thank You, Amen
